What You Need to Know!

God’s Way of Salvation

In Psalm 100, the Bible says, “Know that the Lord Himself is God; It is He who has made us and not we ourselves.”  The Bible says in Acts 17:25 that, “He Himself gives to all life and breath and all things.”

The Bible teaches that God is our Creator and Sustainer and therefore God has absolute claim on our lives.  We are accountable to God.

Did you know that the Bible teaches that God is Holy?

In Isaiah 6:3 we read, “Holy, Holy Holy, is the Lord of hosts.”  God is also love.  The Bible says, “God is love” (I John 4:8).  God is also just.  In Exodus 34:7 the Bible says of God, “He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished.”  You see no one is going to get away with anything.  God is and knows everything and He is a just judge.

Did you know that God has revealed to us in the Bible His

absolute standards of right and wrong?

We see God’s standards, His holy law, summarized in the Ten Commandments. And according to Jesus’ teaching in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7), God’s law addresses our thought, words, and deeds.

Did you know that the Bible teaches that all of us have broken God’s holy law?

We have sinned against God and neighbor.  We have not loved the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, nor have we loved our neighbor as ourselves.  We have put idols in the place of the true and living God.  We have obscenely worshipped power, money, pleasure, and ourselves.  We have taken God’s name in vain and have cursed it and profaned it.  We have been haters of men and women, murdering them in our hearts.  We’ve lusted after others committing adultery in our hearts.  We have lied and stolen.  THE TRUTH IS THAT WE ARE GREAT SINNERS.  The Bible says in Romans 3, “There is none righteous, not even one... There is none who does good, there is not even one... For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.”  Because of our sin we stand guilty before God.  We’re alienated from God and the wrath of God abides on us.  AND IF WE SHOULD DIE IN OUR SIN WE WILL FOREVER BE UNDER GOD’S WRATH AND CONDEMNATION IN HELL.  You know as a great sinner you need a great Savior!!!  One who can save you from the guilt, penalty, and power of your sin.

Did you know that God has graciously and mercifully provided a Savior for us?

“In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins” (I John 4:10).  THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY SAVIOR.  The Bible says, “there is no salvation in no one else for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).  Jesus Himself said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me” (John 14:6).  The Bible says, “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” (I Timothy 1:15).  You see, Jesus came into the world and lived a life of perfect obedience to God’s law, the law that we all have broken and trampled.  Jesus never sinned in thought, word, or deed.  He lived a life of perfect righteousness in our place and then He went to the cross of Calvary and died for our sins.  Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our sins.  The wages of sin is death and Christ died for the sins of those who believe. JESUS CHRIST SUFFERED AND DIED IN OUR PLACE.  He bore the wrath and condemnation that we deserved for our sins.  He satisfied divine justice for all of our lawbreaking.  Christ died and was buried and ON THE THIRD DAY ROSE AGAIN FROM THE DEAD.  He ascended into heaven and is presently seated at the Father’s right hand.

Did you know that the Lord Jesus Christ commands you to repent of your sins and to believe in Him alone for the forgiveness of your sins?

Jesus said, “Unless you repent you will all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3).  Friend, turn from your sins, abandon your self-righteousness and self-confidence and cast yourself wholly on Jesus Christ for pardon and peace with God.  Only the shed blood of Jesus Christ can cleanse you of your sin.  Only when you are clothed in the imputed righteousness of Christ are you fit to stand in the presence of a holy God.  Cast yourself completely upon the Lord Jesus Christ.  Ask Him to give you a new heart working in you true repentance and firm faith.  Ask Him to take away your evil heart of unbelief.  Confess your sins to Christ.  GIVE YOURSELF UP HERE AND NOW TO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.  Bow to His Lordship and authority.  Trust in Christ and His redemptive work alone for the forgiveness of your sins.  Believe in the Lord Jesus and you shall be saved from your sins and the wrath to come.

“Now is the acceptable time, behold now is the day of salvation” (II Corinthians 6:2).
